I've had this mattress now over 5 months and my baby is 20 lbs. It's already starting to sag in the middle and there are permanent indentations where my babies body lies. Even though I've rotated the mattress every month it still have the impression of my babies body. I'm purchasing a firm Colgate Foam Mattress to replace this cheap mattress. It is not good for the development of your babies body as it sags horribly in the middle.
 Perma Dri cover = Plastic Cover. Not sure I want to keep it. June 28, 2010

Our baby is coming in three months and I don't want him sweating on a plastic mattress.
I was surprised to see that the mattress seems to be enveloped with a "plastic" cover.
I guess I assumed that "Perma Dri" would be fabric that's been treated with scotch guard or some kind of liquid repellent while it could still breathe. No such luck. It's plastic.
If our baby is going to be anything like me, he'll be sweating on this mattress all night long.
I'm thinking I want to return it and get a real cloth mattress that will breathe better.
Has anyone noticed that their baby is more sweaty when they sleep on this mattress as compared to sleeping on, say, your regular bed?

love for children
This mattress is nice for the money. I don't see much of a difference between this and the first mattress I bought a few years ago for more money.

This mattress is perfect! It is nice and firm - a must for a crib mattress, and waterproof (an obvious must), and my daughter loves it! She sleeps comfortably all night, every night. When shopping for crib mattresses I did a ton of research. As with most new parents, price was not an issue for my baby - no matter the cost I wanted my baby to have the best of everything. So I was shocked to find that one of the cheapest mattresses available was also one of the best - as reviewed by other parents and other online groups. In doing my research, I noticed that crib mattress dimensions are not consistent. This mattress fits all of our sheets, mattress pads, and most importantly, the crib, perfectly. While I would highly recommend buying a mattress that fits your particular crib the best, try this one before spending tons of money on some of the other options out there. My baby girl has been sleeping 12 hours a night since she was 10 weeks old, and I thank this mattress for helping a new parent out.

My son had been using the same mattress since he was born and was beginning to have trouble with allergies while sleeping, not to mention the old mattress was sagging in the middle and just plain worn out. I researched several options for his toddler bed, and the price on this mattress was just right. It arrived quickly, and I aired it out overnight to get the *slight* chemical smell dissipated. My son slept on it last night and reports it was firm and "felt nice". Any time you can make a 3.5 year old happy, you've done something good!
