Product Description
The Resting Up® Sleep Positioner offers an inclined sleep surface for your baby to aid digestion while keeping baby centered in the crib and sleeping on his back as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatricians. Designed with baby's comfort in mind, the comfortable and breathable AirCare™ foam is covered with FloThru™ fabric to provide better air circulation for a more comfortable surface and help prevent overheating. The positioning wedges are fully adjustable and the entire positioner can be machine washed. The Resting Up® Sleep Positioner also includes the TOTS reminding system. This system helps parents remember to alternate the direction they lay baby down to sleep, which helps prevent Plagiocephaly, or Flat Head Syndrome.

1 out of 5 stars Dangerous Product - Causes Neck Injury and Suffocation!!!   August 11, 2010

This is the first product I've ever felt like writing a review for, but I don't want any other parent to experience what I did. I purchased a sleep positoner of a different brand, but they look identical, so I'm posting a review here. I hope it doesn't take the death of a baby for the manufacturer to take this product off the market because it seems like a lot of other parents have had "close calls." It should be taken off the market immediately! My 6 week baby used it twice and it was hazardous both times in two different ways. 1). The first night, I put the positioner in the bassinet and tucked a light blanket under either side of it, so the blanket wouldn't move up to her face. Well, she ended up sliding down it getting tangled up under the blanket. Had I not checked on her when I did, she would have suffocated! She wasn't crying or anything, I just happened to check on her then. Very scary! I knew not to put a blanket in there, but I thought it would be safe tucked under the positioner, I did not anticipate my baby to slide down it. 2). The second night, I put the positioner in the center of my bed next to me with no blanket. This time was even more dangerous because she scooted her way up to the top of the positioner and almost had her head hanging off the top (this would've happened in a crib or bed). Fortunately, I happened to wake up in time to see this. She wasn't crying or anything, I just happened to wake up and check on her then...all it takes is a second for something to happen no matter how many times you check on your baby. The positioner is great in concept, BUT babies (even newborns) move, wiggle, slide down it, and scoot up it, making it a very DANGEROUS product.

My daughter is 3 months old and has acid reflux. Whenever I would put her in her crib for a nap she would immediately wake up. I first used a boppy pillow during naps, but i know its not safe to sleep with. My daughter has been using this sleep positioner for 2 weeks now and is doing great. She takes naps in her crib from 1-2 hours. I like how the sides are adjustable and you can take them off too. My one negative comment is I think the incline should be higher.
