3 out of 5 stars ok crib, bad service   August 13, 2010

received the item on time. But when I tried to put them together, I found that several pieces of connection hardware (part a. 3 Allen head Bolt and part b. Barrel Nuts) do not match together. The Barel Nuts were not the extract size. So they are not able to be connected with the Allen head Bolt.

When I called Amazon customer service, I asked for just several pieces of 3 Allen head Bolts and the barrel Nuts (I still want the item). But Amazon told me that they can give me refund, and cannot give me several pieces of the connection hardwares. Gosh, I only need several connection hardware, and I did not ask for replacement or refund.

Very disappointed with Amazon's customer service.

4 out of 5 stars Nice sturdy little crib   July 30, 2010

We had no issues at all with the condition of the cribs (we ordered 2 as we have twins). Both were packaged well and arrived in perfect shape. They are very easy to put together. The part the mattress lays on is metal springs instead of a wooden board which most cribs use. The mattress can be placed at 3 levels, suitable for newborns up to toddlers. The mini size is perfect for small homes or bedrooms. I would not call it a portable crib, since it does not fold (so no bringing it to Grandmas house unless you unscrew it completely) I have only two issues with the crib which lead me to give it 4 instead of 5 stars.
#1 the mattress is AWFUL. I'm not a very picky person, but they may as well add $20 to the price and give you something you can actually use. The nattress is so thin on the corners that it's flat! It is about 1" thick and made of very poor quality foam covered in cheap plastic. If you squeeze the mattress between your fingers, it goes completely flat. I would never put a baby on it when the mattress is being supported by metal springs. Ouch!
#2 they do not give you anything to cover the screws so there are holes in the bedframe. The screws are gold in color, I suppose they think that it's decorative. I would prefer to have something cover them.
Other than those two things, the crib is very nice! The wood is solid and thick. The crib is very sturdy. My 5 year old climbed in to play and it didn't budge. I like that it can transition to a day bed and then twin size (rails can be purchased at any mattress store). Set up as a twin bed, it reminds me of a sleigh style bed. All in all, a nice crib that will take your child right into childhood.

2 out of 5 stars What makes it portable?   May 20, 2010

I had read about the folding portable beds and mistook that by "portable" this too would be easy to move. It is really a pretty bed, but one of the screw holes for the mattress holder has no threads, so it will have to be afixed some other way. Very disappointing. Also, disappointed with the mattress.

4 out of 5 stars So far so good...   May 9, 2010

We bought this crib to put in our bedroom as space is tight. It came in great condition and was easy to put together. It looks very nice and we receive many compliments that it looks great with our own dark finish bedroom furniture. We have only had our 6 week old baby sleep in it a few times. He is still sleeping in the bassinet with an incline. The size is great, no need for a "regular" sized crib. The only reason this crib does not get 5 stars is due to the mattress. It is very thin, 1"-1.5", I cant remember. I am thinking of buying a 3" mini crib mattress to put in it.

When i received this crib it was in horrible condition. it was dented, scratched, the wood was cracked and the screw holes had no threads. it was unsafe to even attemt to put a child in it. i call to return it an hour after it was delivered.
